Echoes of Alex Organisation Backs Otti’s 2nd Term, Urges Abians to Shun ‘Stomach Infrastructure’
A support group for Governor Alex Otti’s re-election, known as Echoes of Alex Organisation, has called on Abians to appreciate the governor’s achievements and jettison calls for “stomach infrastructure.”
The State Coordinator of Echoes of Alex Organisation, Hon. Irobikansi Abraham Chijioke, said previous governments in the state focused more on “stomach infrastructure” and achieved little in terms of development.
He reiterated that the governor has a clear agenda for Abians. “He came prepared with a blueprint, knowing that when the state is driven in the right direction and all sectors begin to work, it will be a win-win for all. You will not need stomach infrastructure to survive,” he said.
“Everyone, including the blind, can see that Abia is working under Governor Otti. He is constructing and rehabilitating dilapidated roads. Most of our schools and hospitals have been retrofitted. Workers and pensioners are paid as and when due. Erosion sites are being reclaimed. He has also employed workers, especially in health and education. In just three years, he has done more than we expected,” Chijioke said.
He disclosed that their convener, Dr. Kingsley Nwachukwu, who is based abroad, is a lover of good governance. Satisfied with the progress in the state, he decided to float the organisation to support and ensure the re-election of Governor Otti.
“The aim of this organisation is to support the re-election of Dr. Alex Otti, whom God has sent to redeem Abia. We have not had it this good. Every sector is now working and we are seeing rapid development,” he said.
Chijioke said they met today with representatives of the 184 wards across the state, and all had agreed to adopt Otti’s re-election.
Speaking on criticisms by the opposition that Otti has not done enough, he described the claim as laughable. “His good works are there for all to see. In just three years, we are seeing monumental projects: a proposed seaport, construction of an international airport, building of smart schools, and state-of-the-art hospitals,” he said
